Academic Advising
Peer Advisors
Peer Advisors are student employees, who work closely with staff in the Center for Academic Advising and Student Success, that are trained to assist you with your academic planning and registration. They serve as an informed and knowledgeable resource for initial questions about academic planning, academic support services, academic programs, and academic resources. The peer advisors have completed special training that augments their knowledge of Carroll’s curriculum and can offer valuable student insight on the Carroll Experience.
Peer Advisors assist students by:
Creating Individual Academic (four-year) Plans for any student at Carroll
Providing information about Carroll’s academic programs and resources
Explaining major, minor, emphases, PioCore, and graduation requirements
Providing registration assistance to students of all class standings
Making appropriate referrals across campus

FAQs
Who can utilize Peer Advisors?
All undergraduate students can utilize Peer Advisors! They are a resource for the entire undergraduate community.
Why would I meet with a Peer Advisor over an Academic Advisor or Faculty Advisor?
Peer Advisors are trained on when to refer to academic advisors or faculty advisors, but they can confidently answer many of the same questions asked of academic advisors. If they don’t know the exact answer, they can refer you to the right online or office resource.
Meet with a Peer Advisor to:
Create Individual Academic (four-year) Plans
Get information from a student perspective on academic programs and resources
Receive help with registering for classes and creating a schedule
